Meet Grace
Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve gotten this far and have decided to explore options for taking care of yourself (you’re so worth it)! My name is Grace (She/They), a mental health professional in pursuit of breaking down obstacles to emotional wellness. After many years working in the mental health field and navigating it myself as a client, I noticed that people are often suffering needlessly from the belief that certain emotions are our enemies.
The world seems to always be presenting us with reasons we should feel different. I believe that our raw emotions can be our greatest tools. What would it look like if you had the resources to embrace exactly how you feel in this moment and allowed it to lead you to your deepest truths?
Perhaps that sounds totally overwhelming! Maybe you’d like to dive in and explore your emotions but you’re afraid you won’t know how to swim with the weight of them. Most of us haven’t learned what to do when faced with emotions that overwhelm us and we naturally start to flail around and throw out our defenses in hopes of getting back to the familiar land of “being in control”. In sessions with me, I will guide you in uncovering the concerns that plague you and building tools to create a sense of self-trust and authenticity even in the midst of unchartered territory. My hope is that through our work together, you will learn to adorn your “ugliest” emotions with compassion and alignment.
Grace (She/They) is a North Carolina-based licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that brings an abundance of experience to their work with clients. Inspired by her own journey in healing from trauma and navigating the mental health care system, Grace founded Eclipse Healing to fulfill her dream of offering accessible, confidential, judgment-free emotional and relational wellness resources. Eclipses are all about ushering in change. Often they signify big changes in our lives that call on us to turn inward, face the skeletons in our closets, and find a way forward. The offerings you’ll find here are intended to support you in moving through the trials of life and all of its changing seasons with a greater sense of self-trust & connectedness. Some of the tools Grace offers in sessions include creative journaling, breathwork, mindful movement, guided meditations, and plenty of space for processing.
Philosophy
Grace believes that taking care of your mental well-being can feel overwhelming and everyone deserves to have access to support that works for them. In sessions, Grace will work with you on deepening your self-awareness and self-compassion so you can harness your personal power for healing already within you. You will be encouraged to name your own goals for sessions and Grace will be a gentle supporter, guiding you at your own pace.
Grace believes in a holistic therapy model that focuses on the connection between mind, body, and spirit. She works from a justice-minded, trauma-informed lens. In session with Grace, you will be met with encouragement, acceptance, and genuine care as you explore whatever is feeling resonant for you from moment to moment.
Experience
Grace graduated with a Masters of Counseling in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from Adler Graduate School in 2022 after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota in 2017. While working towards her degrees, Grace gained a variety of experiences including working as a Mental Health Advocate in supportive housing for folks living with serious, persistent mental illness and as an intern-level Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota. Grace now works as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Asheville, NC under a group practice called Matone Counseling & Testing. Her work focuses on working with people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, have experienced trauma, and those who are neurodivergent.
